The study abroad situation of Chinese graduates in 2012 assumes four stable features: funding coming from family; pursuing master's degree; MBA remaining the most popular major; the U.S., Canada and the U.K. are still the top destination countries. With the market expanding significantly, study abroad consulting agencies have become the major channel for self-funded students going abroad. The number of students attending high schools abroad surged. The exodus of top high school students particularly raises concern about the nation's brain drain. As a more realistic generation, most of the high school students went abroad with an intention of living for a long period of time or settling in the destination country. Consequently, their willingness to return is apparently lower than that of college graduates.
