In 2012, the international political and economic environment was complicated, and the difficulties confronting our country and the pressure from economic downturn increased as well. Noticing the new situation and problems in the economy, Guangzhou Municipal Party Committee of CPC and People's Government of Guangzhou Municipality actively boosted new urban development, tried to stabilize the growth, enforced the transformation, benefited the people's livelihood, advanced the continued growth and promoted the coordinated economic and social development. All in all, the GDP was up by 10.5%. Looking into 2013, the world economy will grow at a low speed and domestic economy is determined to have a modest recovery. Confronting the cautious world and domestic complexion, Guangzhou will actively expand consumer demand, build long term mechanism that can expand consumption, accelerate industrial transformation, promote the industry core competitiveness, implement key projects, actively encourage private investment, stabilize export, advance the export transformation and development, enhance the power of city radiation by deepening regional cooperation. <<
