Macao is a well-known tourist city in the world，especially with her city architectural character of the east-west cultures as well as historical heritages，which provide the world tourists with a unique tourist resource. However，the urban ecology and environment of Macao is experiencing a sustaining threat due to over rapid development of the gambling industry，which exerts more and more intensive environmental stress on the fragile urban eco-system of Macao. This is a challenge facing both Macao government and the public. This article discusses what the government has done in fighting against the urban environmental pollution and pursuing sustainable development of Macao.
