Guangzhou has formulated a 10-year planning of developing an innovative city，adjusting the economic structure and transforming the economic growth pattern through technology indigenous innovation. The key factor on improving indigenous innovation is to propel the commercialization of scientific research achievements and the development of high-tech enterprises. A large amount of capital need to be invested and experienced professionals also need to involve in management. This paper analyzes the situation of Guangzhou’s venture capital，and put forward specific development goals，development ideas and countermeasures.
