Guangzhou Statistics Bureau conducted a sampling survey in 2008 on different topics on permanent residents in the eight areas of Yue Xiu，Li Wan，Hai Zhu，Tian He，Bai Yun，Huang Pu，Pan Yu and Hua Du through household investigation and telephone interview using the Resident Survey Network to gain an understanding of public view on Guangzhou’s economic and social development achievements as well as social hot issues including food and drug safety，ecological environment and transportation management with the aim of reflecting the performance achievement and existing problems in those fields to provide policy advice.
