    大数据时代的《纸牌屋》

    摘要

    Netflix旗下的政治剧《纸牌屋》是第一部完全绕过传统电视剧发布渠道的原创剧,也是第一部宣称使用“大数据算法”取得成功的网络剧,这些因素赋予了《纸牌屋》开创性的意义,人们甚至赋予它“大数据鼻祖”的称号。受两季《纸牌屋》的影响,Netflix摆脱了2012年的颓势。Netflix将其成功的秘诀归因于大数据,一时间全球文化产业界开始热议大数据的神奇力量。《纸牌屋》在中美两国都形成了观影热潮和舆论焦点,同时,也引起中国视频网站的共鸣和欢欣,因为他们面临着与Netflix相似的境遇,但其对互联网大数据的应用目前仍然面临瓶颈。

    Abstract

    Abstract:Netflix’s original political drama House of Cards is the first to completely bypass the traditional TV distribution channel.It is also the first to claim that the use of big data helped in the success of the network. Influenced by two seasons of House of Cards,Netflix rose in 2012.The company credits the secret of its success to big data.At that time the global culture industry began to discuss the“magic power” of big data.

    In recent years,the company has been occupying nearly a third of the North America network traffic.HBO,Showtime and other pay-tv channels are losing users,but Netflix is making profit.The growth of Internet TV is enough to send the once powerful traditional television industry into crisis in the era of internet. Netflix’s House of Cards has formed a viewing boom and became the focus of public opinionin US and China.At the same time,it also struck a chord with China’s video websites,because they face a similar situation as Netflix.But internet applications of big data still face difficulties.
