This paper analyzes the rich resources，comprehensive preservation，and wide distribution of ancient villages in Huadu and further points out the grim situation facing their protection due to geological locations，urbanization and the demolition of ancient constructions. It proposes the measures of setting up archives，formulating protection plans and encouraging villagers to move back to their home villages，developing ancient village tourism and cultural park to step up the sustainable development of the ancient villages in Huadu.
