Realizing the education equality is the basic requirement of building a well-off society in an all-round way，and basic value orientation to deepen comprehensive education reform in the future. Applying China educational distribution data during 2002-2012，this article calculated the average years of schooling and education gini coefficient of the gender and all the population. Based on the hierarchical clustering analysis between regions and decomposition of education gini coefficient，the study found that in 2002-2012 China’s education achievement and education equality have been significantly improved. China’s northern education attainment is significantly higher than the south. Education inequality degree declines from west to east. Education gaps between genders have the trends of convergence year by year，but education gap between regions is slightly expanded.
