As a national cultural center，Beijing manifests strong advantages in cultural competitions in all Chinese cities，especially in the spheres of comprehensive cultural strength，innovation competitiveness and the cultural & creative industries，Beijing plays a leading role. Nevertheless，compared with the other world cities like London or New York，Beijing still has a long way to go，particularly in the aspects of cultural diversity and cultural market，even these falls behind Shanghai slightly. This report focuses on the subject of applying integrating innovation to promote the capital culture and the construction of the capital city，and generalizes the new progress in Historical & Cultural conservation，public cultural services，cultural & creative industries，cultural communication and cultural reform & innovation in the year 2013，then analyzes Beijing’s cultural strength and culture competitiveness among the cities worldwide.
