For more than 30 years of reform and opening up,China has undergone enormous changes in the economic and social field,growing from a poor and backward country into a modern country. The total economy has entered the world's second top, and revenue has broken through the mark of 10 trillion yuan.Overall national strengthhas significantly increased with a more harmonious society, and international influence and discourse power has greatly increased. However, the rapid rise of China has also attracted some discordant voices in the international community such as "China threat theory", "China responsibility".It is imminent to enforce the abilities of Chinese culture communications and enhance the ability of dispeling misunderstanding and build the soft power of China's national system. The article, making the overseas Chinese as the starting point, puts up the main path of the overseas Chinese of how to play an important role in building the national soft power on the basis of the analysis of the intrinsic relationship between overseas Chinese and the nation-building of soft power and its research status.
