<<After the serious economic slowdown resulted from the world financial crisis in 2009,a recovery process has slowly started in 2010 in Estonia,Latvia and Lithuania, and a gradual growth is expected in all the three countries in 2011. The governments of these countries are taking painstaking efforts to cut down budget deficits and trying to join the Euro Zone at an earliest time possible. Negative impacts have been exerted on their social and political situations by the economic slowdown and austerity plans. The governments formed by the centre-right or right party coalitions are likely to survive the predictable future, although they are susceptible to defeats. These countries are actively participating in the EU affairs and building close and friendly relations with the USA and the other European countries. The relationship between them and Russia tends to become warm and high-level exchanges have been maintained between them and China.
