Focused on the reprimand by Western academia of the new economies'"state capitalism", this paper discusses the policy consequences of neoliberalism, the choice of development route by new economies, and the content of socialist market system in China. It is pointed out that West's exploitation of the notion of "state capitalism is rooted in its intention to cover up domestic failures and to shift tension to other places, thus clarifying distortions over "socialism with Chinese characteristics." <<
