Recently years，Jiyuan has made great achievement in soil and water conservation，cumulative tackled soil erosion area 1075km²，completed more than 43 acres of afforestation，the forest coverage rate reached 42.38%，environmental protection has achieved initial success. It has got enormous ecological benefits，economic benefits and social benefits. However，due to the complex topography and with the rapid growth of economy and population，soil erosion phenomenon is still serious.Jiyuan is facing the grim situation and challenges of soil and water conservation. From now on，the soil and water conservation in Jiyuan need to take effort from the innovation of soil and water conservation responsibility system，promoting governance model of small watershed soil and water conservation，improve the level of information，strengthen the soil and water conservation policy advocacy efforts.
