In 2012，Guangzhou （municipal districts） ranked the 7th in the increase of the total cultural and educational consumption among various key cities and the 4th in the growth of per capita value. The rankings of the status evaluation are as follows：in the lateral evaluation among key cities，Guangzhou ranked the 1st；in vertical evaluation itself，Guangzhou ranked the 4th，9th and 6th during the periods of 2005-2012，2010-2012 and 2011-2012 respectively.
