In 2012，Xinjiang ranked the 10th in the increase of the total cultural consumption in urban and rural areas and the 11th in the growth of per capita value. The rankings of the status evaluation are as follows：in the lateral evaluation among various provinces，Xinjiang ranked the 29th；in vertical evaluation itself，Xinjiang ranked the 21st，10th，2nd and 14th during the periods of 2000-2012，2005-2012，2010-2012 and 2011-2012 respectively.
