Administrative mediation is important for the food and drug administration to improve the quality and level of service，construct a service-oriented government，and contribute to the building of a harmonious society. In this paper，we explored the mechanism of administrative mediation in primary food and drug administration departments by conducting literature review，quantitative survey，interviews and other research. We studied the necessity of the administrative mediation，and analyzed advanced dispute settlement programs in China and other countries. We also analyzed the current situation and existing problems of the administrative mediation in Beijing local food and drug administration system，integrated the actual needs of the respondents and thereby proposed feasible countermeasures and suggestions.
