The practice of Low-carbon urbanization involves so many key areas of transformation of China’s economic growth pattern that influences sustainable development.This paper identifies the connotation and aims of China low-carbon urbanization and path towards it.In the paper，optimizing urban spatial distribution，obeying the nature laws，insisting on people-oriented principle are regarded as keys to China low-carbon urbanization，as well as promoting local urbanization for garden type and establishing carbon emission reduction targets.It suggests that China low-carbon urbanization should be guided by the principle of intensive，smart and green development principle，based on low-carbon oriented urban development plan，characterized by industrial structure and consumption structure upgrading，and ensured broad public participation.
