After rapid urbanization and industrialization of 32 years,the flourishing degree and modernization degree of cities in China are dramatically increased. But at the same time,by advanced construction,our cities are also facing some serious problems,such as distinguishing features disappeared,environmental pollution,traffic congestion,ecological destruction,and cities are far from people's‘livable'land. Especially some recent public events frequently happened(such as drinking water pollution,water-logging,etc.),which remind us slowing down steps,thinking about the scientific way to build and rebuild our cities. The report introduces the origin,connotation,core idea of‘slow city'and the Slow City Alliance,in order to provide some reference for building characteristic slow cities in small towns or in some regions in big cities in China. <<
