2013年，郑州市工业经济运行平稳，工业投资和用电量增速偏低。全市采取提升主导产业发展、开展工业招商、加快项目建设、培育大企业、推进工业集聚发展、推进两化融合、加快创新驱动、严格节能降耗、强化政策引导和服务企业等措施，加快工业转型升级，取得积极进展。目前仍存在资源型产业比重高、核心竞争力不够强、工业集聚发展水平不高等突出问题。下一步将采取制定路线图、推进重点项目建设、开展大招商、培育大企业、建设产业集群、提升优化产能结构、提高技术创新能力、促进两化深度融合、实现工业绿色发展等措施，进一步加快全市工业转型升级，建设全国重要的新型工业化强市。
