Heilongjiang, as one of China's oldest industrial bases, has strong scientific and technological forces and favorable conditions to develop high-tech industry. With government support in recent years,the high-tech industry in Heilongjiang has developed stably and has become an emerging power and a new growth point in promoting sustainable development of the national economy as a whole. However, it is also faced with many new problems and challenges. Firstly, we analyze the overall development of the high-tech industry and its development trends in Heilongjiang in terms of the development of the high-tech industry, its innovation capacity, operating efficiency and exports. Secondly, we analyze and evaluate the industrial scale, exports and innovation capacity between high-tech industry in Heilongjiang and that of nine provinces in central China. Consequently, we conclude that problems exist in the province's high-tech industry, such as slow development, low added-value, weak international competitiveness and slow development of high-tech industrial development zones. Finally, corresponding suggestions are proposed against the questions mentioned above according to the characteristics of high-tech industry development of Heilongjiang. <<
