Employment protection refers to the limiting and constraining regulations on the use of labor force by employers. Employment protection has major influence on employment quality. As the Labor Contract Law is enacted, the legal system of employment protection in China has been established gradually, thus effectively securing the basic rights and interests of workers and employees while revealing some inherent problems that need to be addressed. The thesis, by making questionnaire survey, finds that the Labor Contract Law has influence on employment, which is represented by the fact that employment decision is evidently influenced, the slight cuts are seen in employment and laid-off volume, means of employment become more flexible, labor relations are improved, and more emphasis is given to training. According to the analytical results, the thesis believes it is necessary to revise the employment protection laws, give stronger support to the employment of key groups, and safeguard the rights and interests of flexibly-employed groups.
