Mexico is a pioneer of the digital economy in Latin America，whose volume is ranked among the top of the world. This article aims to provide an overview of the present and future of the digital economy in Mexico，first introducing the country’s development achievements in network connectivity，ICT industry，e-commerce，and startups during 2021-2022，then summarizing the global and regional competitiveness of the country’s digital economy at the present stage，and finally analyzing the shortcomings of digital economy and making prospects for the development trend. In general，Mexico’s digital economy is booming with its unique advantages，and despite the problems of unbalanced development and lack of international competitiveness，it has great potential and a bright future，and is expected to become a new pillar of country’s economic growth.
