Based on the analysis of the data on current basic services，development，talent team and expenditure of medical institutions and public health institutions in China in 2020，this paper proposes that China’s public health institutions present four trends of development：the service supply capacity is rising，but the utilization rate is declining due to COVID-19；the rank of workers has grown，and the personnel structure is further optimized；the financial investment in professional public health institutions has increased，and thus the public health services are functionally strengthened.
