In 2021-2022，the British higher education sector made steady progress. In terms of learning and teaching，British universities and colleges resumed on-campus education and adopted digital online teaching as an alternative way throughout the entire educational process. Online teaching then becomes an effective supplement and extension of onsite classroom education. Regarding student experience，the Office of Students in the UK has launched a new strategy for 2022 to 2025，aiming to ensure a high-quality academic experience for all students. On the other hand，universities’ teaching quality has been fully recognised by students，as evidenced by the National Student Survey results. Regarding research，the 2021 Research Excellence Framework results have been released. As a result，the UK remained its position as a leading player in the world. Meanwhile，the UK Research and Innovation has released a new research strategy for the next five years（2022 to 2027）to maintain the British global competitiveness in scientific research. Despite all the progress，Brexit and COVID-19 still impact the British higher education sector. Uncertainties still exist，and all stakeholders need to be cautious.
