The equipment manufacturing industry in Tianjin focuses on offshore equipment，advanced CNC machine tools，high-tech ships，power equipment，rail transit equipment，robots，etc.，and is moving towards high-end development. In 2018，the annual production of equipment manufacturing industry was 194.863 billion yuan，with an increase of 5.6% year-on-year，which accounted for 11.73% of the city’s industry output，thus forming a group of specialized high-end equipment industry cluster. It is found that in the development process of equipment manufacturing industry in Tianjin，there exist many problems，such as small industrial scale，core technology and key components being controlled by others，incomplete industrial chain，insufficient independent innovation capability and slow development of productive service industry. In the future，Tianjin equipment manufacturing industry should seize the global new round of scientific and technological revolution and industrial transformation opportunities，based on the national advanced manufacturing R & D base，regarding high-end breakthrough，intelligent transformation，green upgrading as the main line，thus forming the core competitiveness of the industry chain. It should focus on breaking through the key technology，improving the development and system integration level of core components and crucial key crafts to form a group of core technology and high-end products，strengthen in. dustrialization and application capabilities and build a national high-end equipment manufacturing production R & D base，a service center and an advanced equipment manufacturing clusters with international competitiveness.
