Based on the analysis of the development status and trend of international instrument industry，this thesis makes a detailed and quantitative analysis of the development status of China’s instrument industry in 2018 from the aspects of industrial size，operation status and industrial structure. The research shows that China’s instrumentation industry is running steadily and the growth rate has declined slightly in 2018. However，the technical levels have improved largely in some areas，developing a group of new products which break the international monopoly and fill the gaps in the domestic market. In the future，China’s instrument industry should attach importance to top-level design，enhance the speed of industrial restructuring and improve the ability of independent innovation to make the instrument industry develop smoothly and steadily.
