Housing is connected with people’s livelihood and national development，and plays an important role in ensuring people’s livelihood and urban development. Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China（CPC），Henan Province has taken the improvement of the urban housing system as an important work of urban development，adhered to the housing property of “housing for residing，not speculation”，prudently implemented the long-term mechanism for the steady development of real estate，accelerated the improvement of the housing security system，standarized and developed the housing rental market，carried out deepening reform and system construction in key areas，and actively responded to various risks and challenges. Remarkable results have been achieved in Henan Province’s urban housing development. However，with the socialism with Chinese characteristics entering a new era，Henan Province’s new urbanization stage characteristics and the requirements of high-quality urbanization development，Henan’s urban housing development is facing new situations and challenges，for which it is necessary to adhere to correct concept of development，grasp the law，deal with the relationship between the government and the market，improve the mechanism of development of urban housing system.
