This report uses the method of “hot tags+ keywords + data crawling” to obtain materials and takes the code table to analyze content. It comprehensively investigates the communication effect of the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics on five major overseas social media,namely Twitter,Facebook,YouTube,TikTok and Instagram. Overall,the study found that overseas netizens paid more attention to issues such as the holding of the event and news on athletes. The communication focused on the positive image,while the negative issues were mainly concentrated in the event controversy and political slander. Specifically,different overseas social media also vary in the subject,content,form and attitude tendency of the Beijing Winter Olympics.
