As an important support for the rise of the central region，the urban agglomerations in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River occupies an important strategic position in the national regional development pattern. Based on the new development concept，this report analyzes the dynamic mechanism and basic conditions of the high-quality development of the urban agglomerations in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River from five aspects：innovation，coordination，greenness，openness，and sharing，and attempts to provide theoretical and practical ideas for promoting its high-quality development. From the perspective of the new development concept，it is proposed to create a scientific and technological innovation atmosphere to stimulate innovation vitality，improve the regional coordination mechanism to promote regional development，improve the green development mechanism to tap development potential，improve the level of open development to release the pull of openness，and promote the development of sharing economy to promote common prosperity a series of new paths to promote the high-quality development of urban agglomerations in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River.
