The development of service-oriented manufacturing is the main path to build three world-class industrial clusters in Pudong New Area，which is the key to implementing the deep integration of advanced manufacturing and modern service industry and playing the role of “Made in Shanghai”. In recent years，under the guidance of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization，Pudong New Area has been leading the transformation and upgrading of service-oriented manufacturing with industrial design，promoting the transformation of scientific and technological innovation into product competitiveness，and enabling the high-quality development of its six core industries：integrated circuits，new medicine，aviation and aerospace，future cars，smart manufacturing and big data. Pudong New Area was the first among 16 districts in Shanghai to be awarded the title of National Service-oriented Manufacturing Demonstration（Industrial Design Featured Category）.
