历次国际、国内大型残疾人体育赛事活动，主办方都要对赛会志愿者进行岗前培训。2008年之前，志愿者助残培训没有形成完整的培训体系，国际上也没有适合中国国情的可供借鉴的模式。亟须一套系统、完整、规范、有效的助残志愿者培训模式，并着眼助残服务的长远发展，立足国际视野，为今后大型残疾人体育赛事的相关工作提供借鉴。北京奥组委会同残联组织和特教高校共同组织专家学者汇集、提炼国内外助残志愿服务的经验和理论成果，确立了一套针对助残志愿者培训的理论体系、一套培训教材、一套课程模式、一套评估机制，并在2008年赛会的培训实践中获得了成功。这些经验，又经过2010年亚运会和亚残运会、2022年冬奥会和冬残奥会助残志愿者培训活动加以丰富和完善，形成具有中国特色、国际水平的残疾人体育赛事助残志愿者的培训体系，奠定了残疾人体育赛事助残志愿者培训专业化、标准化、系统化发展的理论与实践基础。
<<The Olympic and Paralympic Games are the highest competitive level sports events with most extensive influence in the world，so that the organizer should conduct strict training for the volunteers of the games. The Beijing 2008 Olympic and Paralympic Games is the first time that a single organizing committee has been agreed to host two Olympic Games. Although many cities in China have held large-scale sports events for the disabled in the past，there is no systematic summary of experience and complete training system in the training of help-the-disabled volunteers，and there is no model for reference in the world. There is an urgent need for a systematic，complete，standardized and effective model for the volunteer training activities of the Beijing Olympic and Paralympic Games，which will not only ensure the complete success of the games，but also focus on the long-term development of the-help-disabled service and provide reference for the related work of large-scale disabled sports events in the future from an international perspective. Therefore，Beijing Organizing Commmittee for the Olympic Games （BOCOG） in cooperation with the disabled persons federation，special education colleges and other departments organized a group of high level experts and scholars to establish a theoretical system，develop a set of training materials，determine a set of curriculum models and a set of evaluation mechanism for help-the-disabled volunteer service based on the related experience and theoretical results at home and abroad. The successful experience has been obtained in 2008 Beijing Olympic and Paralympic Games. Moreover，the experience was enriched and improved by volunteer training activities for the 2010 Asian Games and Para Games in Guangzhou and the 2022 Winter Olympic Games and Paralympic Games. And the formation of a training system with Chinese characteristics and international level for volunteers to assist the disabled has laid the theoretical and practical foundation for the specialization，standardization and systematization of help-the-disabled service.
