Volunteer service for the disabled is an extension of the library service category in the new era，highlighting the social responsibility of library cultural service. This report collects the basic data of volunteer services for the disabled in public libraries and university libraries，summarizes and analyzes the development status and existing problems of volunteer services for the disabled in Chinese libraries，and puts forward corresponding development suggestions. The study found that the construction of the relevant legal system and online service platform of the disabled volunteer service in China’s library is still in its infancy，and the development of the reading disabled volunteer service is fast，but there are also imperfect systems and regulations of the disabled volunteer service；The development of volunteer services for the disabled in libraries is uneven and uncoordinated；The passive service mode cannot meet the cultural needs of the disabled；The service content tends to be homogenous，and there is a lack of characteristic disability service brands；The recruitment and training methods of volunteers are single and lack of effective management mechanism. In view of the existing problems，the report proposes to improve the relevant laws and regulations and standardize the voluntary behavior of helping the disabled；Innovate the form and content of disability assistance services，and promote the normalization of volunteer activities for disability assistance；Perfect the volunteer management system and strengthen the construction of volunteer team；Strengthen the research on the information needs of disabled users and improve the user experience；Strengthen publicity and expand the influence of volunteer services for the disabled.
