The year 2021 is a year of “changes” for the Republic of Palau with the new development changes in its politics，economy and diplomacy. In politics，the newly-elected president Surangel Whipps Jr. put forward new policies and made series of reforms in administrative structure，taxing systems and education. In economy，the Palau’s economy，especially tourism，decreased greatly due to the influences of the COVID-19 pandemic. In spite of the efforts made by the new government to promote tourism，little was achieved to promote the development of tourism sector. In diplomacy，Palau made its “voices” in regional and multilateral issues and made further “cooperation” with the USA.
