Social construction is fundamental to the governance of the capital city. The paper summarizes the main achievements of Beijing’s social construction since the 12th Party Congress of Beijing CPC from three aspects：the overall strengthening of the Party’s leadership in social construction，the better satisfaction of the capital citizens’ yearning for a better life，and the continuous new breakthroughs of Community-level social governance in mega-city. This paper puts forward thoughts and suggestions from four aspects：further strengthening the first good standard of social construction and Beijing characteristics，further improving the development of the people’s livelihood in the capital city，further deepening the Party construction to guide grassroots governance innovation，and further improving the service ability level in the field of social construction.
