In 2021，the overall development momentum of the relations between Oceania countries and Japan was sound，laying a foundation for further expanding the new situation of bilateral cooperation. Through various means such as political diplomacy，strategic alliance，economic mutual assistance and people-to-people and cultural exchanges，Japan has continued to strengthen the partner-ship building with Australia，New Zealand and Pacific Island countries，and the development of the relations between Oceania countries and Japan has entered a new stage. In the long term，Japan will continue to build closer multilateral relations with countries in this region by actively participating in multilateral cooperation organizations in Oceania. Simultaneously，Japan will vigorously carry out activities such as political diplomacy and economic diplomacy，and continue to strengthen cooperation in the field of security in an attempt to jointly maintain and promote a free，open，inclusive and prosperous Indo-Pacific region.
