In July 2021，the General Office of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the General Office of the State Council jointly issued the “Opinions on Further Reducing the Burden of Students’ Homework and Off-campus Training in Compulsory Education”（hereinafter referred to as the “Opinions”），which provides not only a way for solutions to the practical issues，but also a top-level design for the comprehensive reform of education system. The far-reaching significance of the “Opinions” is it guidance for us to actively create a healthy ecology of education，to highlight the attributes of fair and public education，and to accelerate the construction of a high-quality education system. The in-depth implementation of “Double Reduction” policy in Beijing has been pushing forward education reform in a steady way with positive results. In all primary and secondary schools in Beijing，the active implementation of the policy has resulted in higher efficiency of school management，higher quality of teaching and research，more scientific and reasonable assignment of homework，and full coverage of after-school services. In terms of off-campus activities，Beijing has fully standardized the management of off-campus training institutions，and the disorder of off-campus training has been basically eliminated. Education reform and development in Beijing has taken on a new shape and gratifying situation.
