2021 is the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China，and it is also the first year for the implementation of the 14th Five-Year Plan and a new journey towards building a modern socialist country in an all-round manner. Anhui thoroughly implements Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era，accurately grasps the new development stage，thoroughly implements new development concepts，strives to build a new development pattern，coordinates epidemic prevention and control and economic and social development，and accelerates the creation of an influential source of scientific and technological innovation，a gathering place for emerging industries，a new highland for reform and opening up，and a comprehensive green transition zone for economic and social development. The province has achieved remarkable results in high-quality economic and social development，and the 14th Five-Year Plan has achieved a good start. The achievements mainly include：the normalization of epidemic prevention and control，the stable recovery of economic operation；the self-reliance of high-level science and technology，the improvement of the ability of sci-tech innovation；the vigorous development of the digital economy，the accelerated pace of industrial transformation；the active transformation of government functions，and the solid progress of the rule of law in Anhui；build a new development pattern for service，and boost the level of opening to the outside world；all-round multi-field interoperability，integrated high-quality development of the Yangtze River Delta；comprehensive promotion of rural revitalization，and Agriculture，Rural Areas and Farmers development to create a new situation；green ecological joint protection and joint governance，environmental quality for sustained improvement；solid development of people’s livelihood projects，and improved quality and quantity of a better life；coordinated development of cultural tourism，and accelerated demonstration of Hui style and Anhui charms. Meanwhile，the challenges and pressures facing Anhui’s social development in the new era are still severe：the foundation of economic recovery is not yet solid，with substantial obstacles to high-quality development；the construction of the innovation system is relatively slow，and the innovation capability needs to be improved urgently；the difficulty of industrial transformation and upgrading is increasing. The development dilemma of emerging industries still exists；the regional imbalance and insufficient development are prominent，and the urban energy gap is significant；the integration momentum of the Yangtze River Delta is insufficient，and the integrated development has a long way to go；the level of institutional opening is relatively insufficient，and the construction of the Anhui Free Trade Zone is arduous. In response to the above problems and challenges，we should accurately analyze opportunities and challenges，lead high-quality development through sci-tech innovation，promote common prosperity through coordinated development，take multiple measures to protect lucid waters and lush mountains，continue to deepen reform and expand opening up，persevere in improving people’s livelihood and well-being，and accelerate social governance.
