Overseas Chinese have deep historical ties with the Chinese Communist Party （CCP）. Over the past century，overseas Chinese have participated in promoting the Chinese revolution，helped the CCP develop and grow and jointly participated in promoting the reform and opening-up and socialism with Chinese characteristics. Although the CPC has undergone the transformation from a revolutionary party to a ruling party over the past century，it has always attached importance to overseas Chinese affairs and made the protection of the rights and interests of overseas Chinese an important part of its work. From the limited intervention in appealing for the rights and interests of overseas Chinese to the comprehensive leadership in seeking up and down and getting better，the CPC has always adhered to its original intention of protecting the rights and interests of overseas Chinese and has continuously made new breakthroughs. Looking back at the century-long evolution of the CPC’s protection of the rights and interests of overseas Chinese，we can find the profound logic contained therein，namely，the united front ideology has always been a powerful driving force for the protection of the rights and interests of overseas Chinese；practicing the original intention and assuming the mission has always been the fundamental guideline for the protection of the rights and interests of overseas Chinese；and safeguarding the interests of overseas Chinese has always been a solid foundation for gathering the hearts，wisdom and strength of overseas Chinese. Combined with historical experience，it yields realistic insights into the CPC’s protection of overseas Chinese rights and interests by adhering to the CPC’s leadership，focusing on the goals of the united front，advancing overseas Chinese legislation and promoting online processing of overseas Chinese related matters.
