“实践八号”是我国首颗育种专用卫星,于2006年9月发射,搭载9大类2020份生物材料。卫星返回后立即启动搭载种子的地面育种工作,目前已在航天诱变机制研究、作物突变新材料创制、突变新品种培育等方面取得一系列成果。据不完全统计,截至2020年,经过全国航天育种协作组协作攻关,建立了作物空间诱变定向筛选新方法,创制出小麦、水稻、玉米等不同作物优良突变体,育成50余个作物新品种,并在生产上应用;在国内外期刊发表相关研究论文160余篇,培养硕博士研究生100余人次。预计未来其将继续在作物空间诱变机制研究和新品种培育方法研究等方面发挥重要作用。
<<“Shijian-8” is the first recoverable satellite for breeding purpose,which was launched in September 2006. It carried 9 categories and 2020 sets of biomaterials. After recovery,the breeding process was initiated immediately. A series of achievements have been made in the areas of space mutagenesis mechanism,development of new mutant germplasm and breeding of new mutant varieties. According to incomplete statistics,by 2020,methods for screening of space induced mutants have been established,elite mutants have been developed in crops such as wheat,rice,corn,and more than 50 new mutant varieties have been bred and planted by farmers. Over 160 peer-reviewed papers have been published in journals,more than 100 master’s and doctoral students have been trained. The progenies induced by spaceflight from “Shijian-8” will continue to play important roles in the study of space mutagen mechanism and development of new mutant varieties in crops.
