Against the backdrop of the long-term impact of climate change and inequality in economic and social development，as well as the challenges brought about by public health emergencies such as the COVID-19 pandemic，building resilient cities has increasingly become a major issue of global concern. Based on “Resilient Tampa：Transforming Our City’s Tomorrow” released in 2021，this article focuses on Tampa’s strategic roadmap for building a resilient city across four scales：from individual Tampanians to neighborhoods，to our infrastructure，to City government. On this basis，it proposes three inspirations for the resilience development of Chinese cities：attach importance to the resilience construction of small and medium-sized cities，attach importance to resilience construction in economic and social fields and other fields，and mobilize and integrate multiple forces to build resilient cities in an all-round way.
