The application of blockchain technology in the field of urban governance is on the rise. This paper summarizes the main economic and social ways of applying blockchain to urban governance from the perspective of its technical characteristics and application advantages；it compares the basic conditions of blockchain application to urban governance and the practical difficulties it faces. On this basis，countermeasures and suggestions for promoting the application of blockchain in urban governance are put forward.
