Enhancing the accessibility of medical and health care service is not only a responsibility of the Chinese government regulated in the International Law,but also of practical significance in China. The accessibility of medical and health care service refers to both the general design and reasonable supports. It includes the coverage of both medical and health care facilities and non-material facilities such as information exchange. China has formulated a series of laws, regulations and policies related to the medical and health care accessibility. However, there are few specific norms on it. Since the implementation of the Regulations on the Accessibility Environment Construction 10 years ago,China has made great progress in accessibility, including certain achievements in medical and health care accessibility. There is,however, obvious room for improvement on the whole. We have been focusing more on the construction of facilities related to medical and health care accessibility rather than the non-material supports, such as lack of telegraphing and radio service in braille, sign language, etc.,and the lack of awareness of providing reasonable supports. The forms and contents of relevant regulations need to be improved and implementation mechanisms should be established.
