Nature-based tourism emphasizes tourists’ preference for nature，and activities and all services and facilities related to tourism are highly dependent on the natural environment. Nature-based tourism in Hong Kong started late，and the market potential has not been fully unleashed. While enjoying the advantages of abundant ecological resources，supportive regulations and policies，increasing market demands，and effective nature education，nature-based tourism also faces the problems and challenges of seasonality，insufficient educational facilities，and huge urban development pressure. Under the context of COVID-19 epidemic，the number of nature-based tourists in Hong Kong has shown a distinctive increase rather than decrease. With the mainstream of domestic and outdoor tourism demands，nature-based tourism has become the main force of destination recovery.
