Notary public service is an inevitable requirement for notary publics to carry out legal services as a non-profit organization. The notary industry in China has regarded public interest legal services as an unshirkable social responsibility. The practice of notary public legal services in Sichuan shows that notary public legal services not only benefit the country and the people，but also contribute to the credibility of notary institutions and the sustainable development of the industry. At present，the problems of notary public legal services are：unclear positioning of notary public properties，unclear definition of notary public services and notary public proof，mutual implication of notary public and notary legal aid，and mutual confusion between notary public services and government purchase of notary public services. In order to carry out notary public service，it is necessary to distinguish the scope of general public service and notary public proof service provided by notary institutions，to clarify the boundary between notary public service，notary legal aid and government purchase of notary services，and to form a pluralistic and multi-level legal service pattern of notary public service and to promote it in a coordinated manner.
