The accelerated fusion of AI and national economy is having an impact on economic and social development，and significantly improve regional competitiveness. This report focuses on the important aspects of AI industry by developing AI development index from five dimensions：institutional guarantee，resource support，scientific and technological innovation，industrial development and scene empowerment. Based on the index framework，we quantitatively evaluate the AI competitiveness of key regions. The results showed that the Yangtze River Delta ranked first in the development level of AI in important regions in China. Based on the assessment results，the level of AI competitiveness and the balanced development level of the Yangtze River Delta are analyzed，and recommendations for decision-making on the development of AI in the Yangtze River Delta are proposed.
