By consulting a large number of documents related to the oral health of the elderly in the southwest region，it is concluded that：（1）The caries situation of the elderly in the southwest region is not optimistic，with a high caries rate and a low filling rate；（2）It is worrying that the proportion of the elderly with early and late periodontitis is the highest，and the proportion of the elderly with complete periodontal health is extremely low. （3）The elderly in southwest China suffer from serious tooth loss，with the largest proportion of dentition loss and relatively few dentition loss. However，the repair rate does not match the defect and deletion rates. （4）The elderly in Southwest China have not yet formed good oral health behaviors and lack oral knowledge and awareness of oral health.
