Tongzhou canal boatman’s work songs are municipal intangible cultural heritage in Tongzhou District，Beijing. Through the study of its development history and different types，the investigation and research of its development status，this paper points out the difficulties and problems faced by Tongzhou Canal boatman’s songs in the process of inheritance and development，forms thoughts and suggestions on the protection and inheritance of traditional music intangible cultural heritage.
