A series of new achievements were made in the protection of Beijing’s intangible cultural heritage in 2021 against the background of normalizing the prevention and control of the novel coronavirus epidemic. These new achievements show the combination of intangible cultural heritage and red culture，the combination with the central work of contemporary Beijing’s economic and social development，festivals have become important occasions for the exhibition and dissemination of intangible cultural heritage，the Winter Olympics as the representative of the large-scale cultural activities have become an important window for the exhibition and dissemination of intangible cultural heritage，the brand effect of Beijing intangible cultural heritage has gradually become prominent，the mutual promotion of intangible cultural heritage and cultural tourism and so on. In addition to these achievements，Beijing’s intangible cultural heritage also has some shortcomings，including further exploitation of the potential of Beijing’s intangible cultural heritage to participate in the prevention and control of COVID-19，resource inclination of the intangible cultural heritage work in suburban Beijing，further play of the leading role of Beijing’s intangible cultural heritage，and the participation of all sectors of society，especially the young generation，in the dissemination of intangible cultural heritage needs to be improved. The investigation，research，protection experience summary and achievement promotion of intangible cultural heritage in Beijing are relatively weak. To solve these problems，all sectors of society need to work together to actively exploit the potential of Beijing’s intangible cultural heritage，make a overall layout，pay high attention to it，increase investment，integrate the protection of intangible cultural heritage into the whole process of youth education，further strengthen the research effort of Beijing’s intangible cultural heritage，build a new situation of Beijing’s intangible cultural heritage protection.
