The Party Central Committee and the State Council attach great importance to the work of energy and electricity security，and General Secretary Xi Jinping clearly proposed that “the rice bowl of energy security must be in our own hands”. 2022，affected by the rare extreme heat in history，the national power supply and demand situation tightened across the board，with many provinces and regions experiencing power supply tension. Under the background of low-carbon transformation of energy and electricity，the national and Henan power supply security situation in the coming period is still severe，forward-looking research on medium- and long-term power security，ask the “long-term policy” of energy security，for the protection of Henan energy security，service “two ensure” goal to achieve is of great significance. This paper，in accordance with the research idea of “analyzing the situation，clarifying the task and formulating measures”，examines the new pattern of global energy and electricity supply，analyzes the new situation of Henan’s electricity supply，calculates the province’s medium- and long-term electricity demand，highlights the “conventional power supply to ensure supply，new energy to adjust the structure” concept，adhere to the “first after the break，system planning，synergy，” around the supply，system，consumption，mechanism four aspects，put forward the medium and long-term power supply in Henan countermeasures and recommendations，with a view to serving the province’s economic and social quality development to provide strong power security.
