As urbanization accelerates and population clustering brings great challenges to urban habitat and people’s health, healthy city projects have become the first choice for many countries to reduce the hazards they pose in the urbanization process. The Australian city of Sydney was ranked second among the world’s healthiest cities in the Healthy Lifestyle Cities 2021 report released by Lenstore UK. Australia is an early adopter of the healthy cities and healthy communities movement, with a focus on improving regional open spaces and community livability. The Metropolitan Green spoue program and Greener Places programs have increased community access to recreation and exercise, helping to create healthier, more livable and sustainable urban environments. In addition,Sydney has more mature experience in health indicators such as sunshine hours, life expectancy, green coverage, obesity rates, healthy diet,well-being levels and outdoor exercise, which provide effective ideas for building healthy cities in China.
